Skills Test Session Pictures

Here are a few pictures of some of our riders in action at our recent skills test session...

Skills Test League Table

As you should all know now every 5 weeks we are running a special Skills Test Session. At each session the same three key activities are undertaken and recorded with the goal that as everyone develops there skills and stamina results improve. Coach Michael has been slaving over a computer to come up with a league table based on points awarded for performances in each of the three key disciplines. Here are the results!

New pics & Go-Ride Race

Some New Pics added to the riders in action page from Easter Sunday.  Keep sending us your pics as the season gets going.

My favourite, Alfie Wood taking the win in a classy sprint finish U10's.

This weekend is the Go-Ride Race event for novice U8 -U16s at Cyclopark.  There will be Road & MTB racing available, so if you are interested in having a go at racing, or want to gain more experience at novice level come and have a go.

Indoor fun

Due to the very very very wet weather on Saturday the coaches and riders decided to have an indoor cycling session for the Go-Ride session alongside the Wigmore Weenies in the Howard school sports hall.

The riders had some practice riding on rollers and got some great coaching tips from the volunteer coaches (Luke is a former Kent Champion and record holder racing on rollers). During the time in between practicing some of the riders did a puncture repair workshop, and also did some wheel change races in teams. Great practice for future road races!

Young volunteer Vlad was on hand to help the new young riders learn indoor skills, having learnt alongside the adults through the winter indoor training sessions.

Lets hope the weather improves for next weeks Skills Challenge! If not we may need a lifeboat race or a swimming relay........

Vlad was presented with a Certificate for completing his Gold level (36hrs) of volunteering.

Club Coach Clin Maisey was also awarded recognition for his commitment to the club, which Vlad collected on Clin's behalf.

Thanks to all who have attended the Indoor sessions over the Winter.  I hope you've enjoyed riding as much as I've enjoyed shouting at you all and seeing the pain making a difference!

Thanks to Tim for the I-Magic, to Clin for helping sign on, and to all for help with the equipment.
